I studied cartography and geomedia design at Munich University of Applied Sciences — a field concerned with structure, space and perception. Photography became my way of translating that understanding into human stories.

After working across genres, I chose reduction over variety. Since 2026, my work exists exclusively in black and white.

I focus on portraiture, documentary work and lifestyle around identity, subculture and independent creatives. High contrast, visible grain and deliberate composition define my visual language.

Alongside commissioned work, I share insights on photographic philosophy and visual culture on my YouTube channel, Marco X Blanke, launched in 2024.

My vegan and Straight Edge lifestyle reflects the same principles that shape my work: clarity, discipline and intention.
